As part of our expanding range of services we can offer our clients an expert thermal imaging service to identify potential problems in switch boards, motors and heat loss issues. Many insurance companies now insist business undertake TI as part of their risk management program so contact us today to discuss further or visit www.thermocheck.co.nz.

What is infrared scanning?
Infrared scanning identifies the transfer of infrared heat radiation from an object and provides a means to scan the thermal emissions of various surfaces and display an image of temperature distribution. This reveals possible problem areas that may need to be dealt with to improve the safety and efficiency of machinery, building structures or electrical apparatus.
Why scan?
Faulty electrical components become hot before failing completely therefore early detection via thermal imaging can avoid costly shutdowns.
We scan electrical switchboards, transformers, motors, motor control centres, sub-stations, transmission lines, circuit operating devices, switches, fuses, control equipment and circuit breakers in order to:
- Reduce risk
- Reduce insurance premiums
- Allow maintenance staff to see it before it becomes a problem
- Allow maintenance staff to schedule repairs and arrange materials beforehand
- Protect capital investment
- Provide non-invasive, non-contact, fast inspections
- Check any repair work
- Save energy
Regular thermal imaging can detect potentially serious faults in electrical and mechanical equipment before they develop and early detection and scheduling of remedial action have obvious benefits where interruption of supply is of a critical nature.
The operation of the thermographic equipment will not interfere with a business’ normal day to day running as the technique is non-invasive and non-destructive. Benefits include:
- Cost savings
- Early detection of potential faults
- Assurance of supply
- Building hazard reduction
- Reduction in down time
- Insurance premium rebates

Heating and Cooling
Energy for heating is a major expenditure for most businesses. Allowing heat to escape too readily wastes money. Thermal surveys identify where heat is being lost from buildings and distribution systems.
Refrigerated storage needs large amounts of energy to maintain the low temperatures required. Don't spend any more than necessary, use thermography to detect faulty insulation without any disruption to operations or damage to the building fabric.
Reports
Reports are presented in bound colour or electronic format
All inspected items of equipment logged but we usually employ the exceptional reporting method for simplicity
Grading and suggested remedial action of all detected areas of concern
Thermal and digital images provided
